AFM Scientist - Sunnyvale, CA

This position requires a solid technical foundation, and a minimum of four years hands-on experience in Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). An MS degree (minimum) in chemistry is required. Essential are excellent English communications skills (both written and spoken), multitasking ability, a strong work ethic with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to work to deadlines in a team oriented environment.  Also necessary are impeccable customer service skills. Experience in magnetic force microscopy, scanning capacitance microscopy and other scanning probe techniques are desirable. Additionally, experience in other analytical techniques is a plus. 

Responsibilities include operating analytical instrumentation, developing analysis protocols, interpreting data, writing reports and communicating with clients. The ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic with demonstrated skills in running AFM instruments and acquiring high quality data. The ideal candidate will also be able to interpret AFM images and communicate this information to clients.

ESD Test Engineer – Phoenix, AZ

The ESD Test Engineer will develop and debug HBM, MM, CDM, TLP, and Latchup tests. Will work with customer design groups to understand new requirements for ESD device characterization and test. Will be required to contact customers to define scope of work, clarify information, and resolve issues. Will help define processes to improve productivity and quality of the ESD team. May help define and write related automation software, including scripts and database integration.

Essential Job Functions: Perform setup, debug, and testing and data logging of integrated circuits using automated test equipment including Thermo Fisher MK4, MK2, RCDM. Provide excellent customer support, ensure that all requirements are understood and met, educate customers about ESD test standards. Work with customer to understand future requirements including development of custom hardware or software. Work with other engineering groups within the company to leverage those techniques for existing ESD customers. Share existing ESD customer contacts and requirements with other EAG groups.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education and Experience: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with focus on semiconductor device physics and integrated circuit design. 1-2 yrs related experience in ASIC test engineering or circuit design.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: Solid understanding of circuits and electronic test equipment including parameter analyzer, oscilloscope, power supply, etc. Programming skills, perl, python,  C++, UNIX, Windows. Strong communication skills.

ESD Test Manager – Phoenix, AZ

This position’s main goal is to provide technical expertise to customers looking for ESD Engineering test services, and to generate quotes and internal work requests to execute on that business.

Essential Job Functions: Manage day to day activities of Test Engineers and Technicians in the lab. Create technical proposals to address customers ESD test needs. Generate quotes for those jobs. Ensure that reports generated by Engineering staff are complete and accurate. Drive technical process improvements to increase both efficiency and lab capability. Participate in annualized planning process.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Failure Analysis Engineer – Irvine, CA

We are looking for a Failure Analysis Engineer who can help us meet our customers’ goals. Responsibilities for this role include initial consultation with customers to define the device’s problem, developing and executing analyses, and communicating results.  This is a hands-on position that will require both performing analysis and leveraging other EAG colleague’s efforts. The ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic and has a strong sense of responsibility. This position requires a solid technical foundation, 5+ years of experience and a BS in electrical engineering.

In addition to excellent FA skills, hands-on experience with curve trace, X-ray, CSAM, TDR, light emission microscopy, IR microscopy, various laser injection techniques, microprobing, deprocessing, SEM, IC test, and other related FA tools are necessary.  Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken), a strong work ethic with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to work to deadlines in a team oriented environment are essential. Human Resources Representative/Generalist – Santa Clara, CA

Essential Job Functions: The HR Representative is an exempt position, reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager. The qualified candidate will have tactical and strategic responsibilities that require broad experience in the functional HR areas below, and will make process improvement recommendations to HR management.

BENEFITS: Administer and process enrollments and changes for all company benefit plans, consulting with payroll and vendors on all required documentation.

STAFFING: Recruit, hire and onboard all company hourly and salaried positions. On-board new hires, including offer letter processing, start day coordination, process benefits and new hire paperwork. Ensure recruiting activities support AAP and EEO guidelines and reporting requirements.

DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING PROGRAMS: Assist in all employee required and essential training implementation and processing.

ICP-MS Senior Chemist – North Billerica, MA

Conduct analyses of high purity solid and liquid samples with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and vapor phase decomposition (VPD-ICP-MS). The position will entail procuring instrumentation, designing suitable lab space, overseeing the installation of equipment and bringing the tools online for commercial analytical testing. Responsibilities include day-to-day operation of ICP-MS instrumentation, developing protocols, interpreting data, writing reports and communicating with clients. Experience with vapor phase decomposition (VPD) sample preparation is a plus. Knowledge of ISO (or comparable quality system) is a plus.

Scientist – Raleigh, NC

Conduct analysis of various solid materials with scanning, scanning transmission and transmission electron microscopy. Analyzes and tests new or existing materials to identify characteristics for the development or improvement of new or existing products. Performs various sample preparation methods employing focused ion beam and other techniques.

Essential Job Functions: Applies standard and non-standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out relatively complex analytical work to determine the composition and/or the structure of various material systems and products. Prepares samples with unique FIB preparation techniques and proprietary equipment. Prepares reports on analytical results for customers, including interpretation of results. Develops new and unique sample preparation techniques and equipment for the analysis of client samples. Other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements/Education and Experience: BS in science/engineering plus 4+ years specifically related experience OR MS plus 2+ years OR PhD with no experience. Materials characterization experience is required. Experience should be in performing analytical testing with all forms of electron microscopy. Experience with maintenance of electron microscopes and related equipment. Experience with focused ion beam and other methods of sample preparation for electron microscopy. Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

SEM Scientist – Sunnyvale, CA

We are looking for a dynamic, problem-solving individual to be responsible for delivering high quality Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) data to our customers. Evans Analytical Group (EAG) supports many high technology industries including: semiconductor, LED, biotechnology, displays, solar, energy storage and the legal community. Essential Job Functions: Interact with customers to understand their analysis needs; develop methods to acquire necessary data; prepare and image samples utilizing one of several FE-SEM tools in the lab; organize data, prepare reports as necessary and provide customers their results.  Preparation methods include polishing, chemical etching, ion milling, and lapping of samples.  

Job Requirements: BS or MS degree in physical sciences (chemistry, physics, EE, materials science); excellent communication skills- both written and verbal; US citizen or Green Card holder; 1 Year experience using an SEM.
