Vijay joined Texas Instruments in 1988 after receiving his Electrical Engineering degree from Iowa State University. During his time at Texas Instruments his work with design, Fabrication, and production engineering helped establish TI as a leader in BiCMOS HVM. He managed product lines doing over 100 Million parts per year performing yield and performance ramps on the BiCMOS product line. Later Vijay joined Vitesse Semiconductor as a Product Engineer for GaAs ICs. He developed and maintained probe, final test, and characterization test software for ultra high speed devices.  He Joined Hewlett Packard’s Test and Measurement Organization as an applications engineer to help launch HP ATE in the production market.

In 1996 he founded Berkeley Consulting Services, Inc (BCS) with a vision to address the needs of an emerging market in the fabless semiconductor space. BCS provided newly funded semiconductor companies a vertical service offering including product and test engineering. BCS offered training classes, test program development, testers, PCB design services, characterization, software tools, and yield ramp services on an as needed flexible basis to over 500 semiconductor companies in the IDM and fabless space. BCS grew from a small company to merge with two other companies (along with EAG) to become a world leader in comprehensive semiconductor Release To Production (RTP) services.
